Initial Consultation

Our process starts with an initial consultation. We find these meetings rewarding as they provide the opportunity to hear your thoughts, plans and wishes for your renovation or new build. Additionally, it gives us the opportunity to offer advice on the benefits and challenges of your project and how best to deliver what you want.

We can maybe add an option or two ourselves! At MST Building and Renovations Auckland we are unique in being able to also include our in-house interior designer at this meeting if you wish. It has been found to add a new dimension to discussions on the total finished look and; seamless result to your project.

If you like what you hear at the consultation, we move on to producing Concept Plans.

Concept Plans, Working Drawings & Build Costs

Our team at MST Building and Renovations Auckland will work with you to review your budget and finalise your layout to create conceptual plans. Based on these plans, we can provide a project estimate and timeline. The plans are prepared by professional architectural designers based on our discussions of what your requirements are. They will take into account any restrictions that will be placed on your project by council such as height to boundary.

Once the Concept Plans are completed your MST Building and Renovations Auckland Project Manager becomes involved with providing an baseline estimate. When this has been accepted the next stage will then be Working Drawings.

These are detailed plans required for submission to the Council. They will enable an accurate build cost using our QS process and timeline to be provided. MST Building and Renovations Auckland will also arrange the 10 year building warranty with Stamford Insurance.

Council Consents - Auckland

Once the working drawings are complete and the build cost quoted, we will submit the plans to the council on your behalf.

Your MST Building and Renovations Auckland dedicated Project Manager will follow the application progress through the system and liaise with the council throughout should there be any additional requirements or requests for information by the Council.

We will take responsibility to make sure all building consents are issued to allow work to commence

And so it begins

We maintain the partnership that we have built during the planning stages and extend it to include our build team. Your MST Building and Renovations Project Manager will introduce you to your lead builder prior to the start date and together they will discuss the project schedule and timeline with you and provide a user friendly copy of the project timeline to you. This way you will know what will be happening each week throughout the project.

You will always be aware of what is happening with your home and you will know immediately if any unexpected issues arise. Additionally, our simple online system makes it possible to access your project from any computer, tablet, or smartphone.

The MST Building and Renovations Project Manager will always meet with you at least once a week to specifically discuss the progress of the project and what is happening for each coming week. This meeting will also provide the opportunity to discuss and changes or variations.

Your home will be treated with respect and the work site kept tidy and free of hazards at all times.

Completion

And last but definitely not least…… sit back and enjoy your new and improved home for many years to come.

Once practical completion has been met our commitment continues. With final inspections made we will submit all the required paperwork gathered throughout the project to the council for the Code of Compliance (CCC).

This will be issued directly to you and kept safely with all the other plans and paperwork that you have received throughout the project. It will all add value in the future should you choose to sell your home.

10 YEAR BUILDING WARRANTY

The team at MST recognise that the renovation projects deserve the protection of a warranty just as much as a new build. As a preferred builder for Stamford Insurance, MST will provide a 10 Year Building Warranty.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

All of our sites have health and safety systems in place to ensure everyone is safe. A Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) is in place when building. We follow a strict health and safety program, with forms for identifying hazards, accidents, and visitor entry to the site.
